Holiness in Christ
HOLINESS is generally understood as a state of being pure, sacred, and morally perfect. The concept of holiness is central to many religions, including Christianity. However, some scholars and theologians argue that the idea behind holiness is not simply about moral purity.
One perspective is that it is less about moral perfection and more about being set apart or dedicated to a higher power or purpose. In this sense, holiness is not primarily about following a strict moral code but about being committed to serving or worshipping something greater than oneself. Others emphasise that holiness involves both moral purity and a sense of separation and dedication. In this view, holiness involves living a virtuous life and being committed to a specific set of religious principles.
In the Christian context, it is a state of moral and ethical purity that reflects the character of God.
In conclusion, holiness is not so much achieved through our own efforts, but it is received as we are new creations in Christ Jesus.
Holiness is part of who we are in Christ Ephesians 4:24, and we are invited partakers and share of Jesus's Holiness Acts 2:10
God is holy, and He calls us to come to Him and share from His Holiness 1 Peter 1:16
