The Word of God is Alive and Active
The Word of God has power in itself. In Matthew chapter 3, Jesus likened the word of God to seed. Seed has the ability to bring forth more life. The word of God cuts, burns, crushes and it is a mountain moving power. The word of God has life of its own, it is the voice of to us, we cannot refute it, deny it or distort it or dilute it. The living word is active in the lives of those who hear it, or read it, or obey it, or receive it.
Rev. 1:3 "Blessed is he that readers, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein for the time is at hand".
According to Rich Warren, "God's word generates life, create faith, produces change, frightens the devil, causes miracles, heals hurt, builds character, transforms circumstances, imports joy, overcomes adversity, defeats temptation, infuses hope, releases power, cleanses our minds, brings things into being, and guarantees our future forever".
Therefore, never underestimate the power of God's word. The word of God is far more powerful than any of us could ever imagine. The word of God is so powerful that God spoke the world into existence. It is so powerful that Jesus resisted the devil. The word of God has the power to save our soul. Romans 1:16, " for I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth".
James 1:21 "Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save our souls". The Bible is the only infallible guide for everyday life.
Ps. 119:130 "The entrance of your word gives light, it gives understanding to the simple". You cannot be a victorious Christian if you do not know, understand, practice and obey the word of God.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, help us to hear and truly understand, believe and follow in all faithfulness and obedience and to seek your honour and glory in all that we do through Christ our Lord. Amen.
